Mr. Nishith Kumar Sarker was born in a village of Bagatipara Thana under Natore district. He completed his SSC and HSC from a local High School and college. Finally he passed his Hons. and MA in English from Rajshahi University in 1977 and 1978 (held in 1979) respectively.
Mr. Sarker started his career as a teacher in 1979, served in different colleges as English teacher and continued up to 1983 June. Leaving the job in 1983, he joined BCS (Admn) service in 1983 June. He served in various capacities in field level administration as Magistrate (Asstt. Commissioner), Upazila Magistrate, TNO/UNO, Addl. Deputy Commissioner, Senior Assistant Commissioner etc. He retired from the service as Joint Secretary on 31.12.2010.
